Week 5: Find and Develop an Idea
I sat down with my partner last night and had a huge brainstorming session, trying to come up with a viable business idea.
After discussing three or four different ideas, we began to wonder why I wasn't considering going into the chocolate industry - we'd been talking about chocolate amongst a group of our friends on Saturday night and, apparently, my eyes were lit up and they couldn't stop me talking!
I've been reading books on chocolate since I was seven years' old, and have visited 'Cadbury World' 11 times! I practise my chocolate skills regularly in my kitchen, but didn't think about going into business selling it (at least, not yet.)
My idea is to make and sell a small range of chocolate products that are fairly simple to create but look stunning, and that can be packaged in a variety of ways to suit different occasions. I have seen a chocolate company in America (www.ghirardelli.com) and admire their products: they make a small range of gourmet flavoured chocolate squares, but have lots or different packagings and gift boxes which make the most of their limited product range. I think my aim is to create something similar for the UK market.

Chocolate !!
Wow !! You really are flying.. I love Ghiradelli chocolate, there is something quite cool about their packaging. The taste of their chocolate is good as well, not like Hershey's..
I've stalled a bit.. feeling sorry for myself with a cold at the momnent, so it was great to log on, and see all of your speedy updates.
Good luck !
Sarah
