FINALLY UP AND RUNNING

following on from my log Happy reading, a couple of weeks ago. I am pleased to report that funding for a Support Worker has finally been approved, I have now got a Support Worker in Place who is going to start in early June. One of the positives I have discovered about having a support worker is that I am finding it a lot easier to say on task, and do not feel as isolated as I might have done if I were on my own, as I am working from home, at least to begin with, until I start to grow. On that note I will be getting a copy of Steve's new book, which is out in March 2011, Grow your Business week by week.

Another positive is that having a support worker in place to help me has finally committed me to the business in as much as, I will seriously be working through the book, carrying out the market research, and seeing if other people who are not friends and family, think I have a business as much as I do, and will make a commitment to buying in my service, and becoming my first customer!

For those of you, who have been on the site before, you will know, that I have had some serious doubts in the past, but now I have the funding, I feel I have took an important Milestone, grown up a bit , and taken the business to the next level.

The process of finding and securing the funding, as in it's self been a form of Market Research as I have had to explain my Business idea, write a Job description for the Support Worker, and negotiate quotes from suppliers of support workers, not to mention be constantly on their backs to get the quotes in and negotiate the final deal to supply the support worker.

So here's to week 1 (again!) I look forward to sharing the highs and lows with everyone who is part of the flying start ups website, and has time to read my log, Thanks to others who have for your feed back, and to anyone who is thinking about starting up a business, but especially if you are disabled, I would say go for it, get all the help you can, because the sense of control having my own business gives me, even at this stage, when it is only an idea, is unlike any other level of control I have ever experience in my life before. It feels GREAT .
