Tough couple of weeks
Hang on, hang on! Not only have I just had a really tough couple of weeks but now I log in here to find that Sparkatrician has sneaked to the top of the 'top pilot's logs' list.... What's that, four in a row? Come on Paul, give a girl a chance!
OK, maybe it's not the end of the world. Short of sitting here and writing a handful of posts (which I'm not going to do, don't worry) there's not much I can do about it.
It has been a tough couple of weeks though. It's been one of those everything happening at once kind of times - a few things coming to a head, lots of queries from existing clients (don't get me wrong, I love hearing from our clients, it's just that sometimes they all decide they need urgent stuff done at the same time) and problems with our internet connection (disaster!). The internet connection has been the most frustrating thing of all. This week we had three completely wasted days which we really could have done without. And we just couldn't figure out what was going on - it seems to be ok again now (touch wood) but I'd feel more confident if we had a clear idea of what caused it.
Still, it's not been all bad. I had the last session of a six-part marketing course on Thursday. To be honest the course wasn't brilliant but I did enjoy meeting all the other people doing it. The last day consisted of us all giving presentations. Now, I'm not the world's most confident public speaker but I spent a bit of time preparing and practising my 10 minutes, and was really pleased with how it went. A couple of them were kind enough to say that it was good and I sounded like I knew what I was talking about, which was a real boost to my confidence. Perhaps I can crack this pubic speaking thing after all!
Cheerio for now

Hi Emily,
What can I say you turned your back for a minute! I had a lot to log and i still do, so much is happening I'm so busy and I haven't even finished all my marketing plans yet, so when i do get them going I think I'll have more work than i know what to do with (Yay, here's to massive growth and world domination).
I was going to do another one but I'll give you a chance to catch up and write it tomorrow or Tuesday!!!
Hey don't complain you're busy too. Keep those clients happy and they'll tell people of your brilliance.
Have you thought of getting a second line installed as an emergency/ insurance type thing in case your connection goes down again! It's a pretty important thing for you?

Hi Paul
Thanks for holding back. Don't worry - I'm sure I'll have a chance to catch up sometime. I'm not beaten that easily ;-)
We definitely have to think about some way of making sure we're not out of action for days at a time. Think it may have been our router rather than our phone line this time, but not absolutely sure - have got this niggly doubt that it might have been our ISP messing with us.
Sounds like you're up to some interesting things with your microsite and blog etc. Yay for websites! We'd better hurry up with our plans for world (or is that web) domination or you'll be leaving us way behind.
Am feeling much more in control of things this week - spent the weekend sorting through stuff and organising myself again. So, the panic has subsided ... despite QuickBooks being a complete nightmare - beware of QuickBooks support it's complete rubbish! (There's a rant on my blog if you want to read more: www.marblecake.org.uk).
