My first days trading...

Well I did my first day yesterday 22nd Oct. It went extremely well, we were really busy. Everyone had positive things to say and I think I already have regular customers. We opened at 9:00am and nervously awaited our first customer who came in at 9:20am. From then on the shop was only empty twice in the day for a couple of minutes. How great is that? I was absolutly buzzing with excitment and so was hubby. We couldn't stop smiling all day and when it came to cashing up we were well chuffed as we'd doubled my expectations. Hope tomorrow goes as well - fingers crossed. I must admit I did have a tear at the end of the day just because I was so overwhelmed and when you work so hard for something your emotions are all over the place, but it was tears of joy and not frustration and sadness as in previous months.

For the people who are still striving to get there - keep going through all the hard times it is well worth it in the end.

I am giddy with excitement for you! I can only dream of feeling the same feelings of accomplishment and joy that you have experienced for your first opening day. I had a quick glance through your former logs (although i had read them before...just wanted a refresher) and see that you resigned less than two months before your opening day. Everything has happened so fast. I am sure while you were in the middle of it, it didn't seem so fast.
Too bad you are all the way in Wales. I dig crafts and love making things. I would easily have been a regular!

First weeks trading over, done really well despite the horendous weather. Very positive comments from all my customers. A little quiet on Sat though which is worrying, however the town I am based in is undergoing huge redevelopment and so the traffic situation is appalling, so I need to sit tight until all the work is over. Feeling really relaxed about everything, my mum works three days and then I do three days although I call in every day. I had the best day ever yesterday, catching up with my cleaaning and just playing with my daughter which I have missed over the past few months (the daughter, not the cleaning) Hope the relaxed state continues and the money keeps coming in. xxx
