The case of the vanishing website

My mentor is a very enthusiastic guy and came up with the idea that as well as teaching people how to use accounts software, I should make training videos. Better still interactive training videos.

Great idea, I thought, and bought a copy of video-making software Camtasia and spent most of last weekend teaching myself to use it (with many thanks to my long-suffering husband who put up with me talking into a microphone and asking him to keep quiet when he was trying to watch the football).

On Sunday evening, exhausted, I thought I'd do a post on my blog about it. I wrote the post on Qumana and tried to upload it to my website... and it didn't work. I tried again... still no go. So I tried logging on to my website - and the content, my previous blog posts, contact details, and testimonials, had all vanished!

My mentor had set up my site and was administering it for me so I assumed he was just doing some repair work... until I e-mailed him to ask what had happened and he replied very apologetically to say he'd accidentally pressed "Delete" instead of "Repair" and wiped my site away!!!

So I ever so politely thanked him and said I'd make my own arrangements to rebuild my site, which I have now done... if anyone deletes my website I want it to be me :-)

Thanks! You're right, I was annoyed, but my mentor was pretty cross with himself anyway, so I sent him a polite e-mail and did some fruity swearing out loud while I was writing it :-) !
