New Idea, Interactive Light Show..feedback / help much appreciated !

Hi everyone, i'm new to this site, and like many others linked from reading the 'how to be an entrepreneur' book (thanks Steve)....
Over the last 12 months, ive been working on a new innovative product. I'd like to share this with the community with the objective of getting feedback on whether people think its a good idea, and any contacts in the music industry that i could approach. Using a Patent Attorney, the invention was submitted last year (under my name)
Idea: - Visualise this for a moment..Consider a concert with several thousand people watching their idol on stage. Many poeple use glowsticks, mobile phones, lighters etc to 'connect' to the show. From a visual effects point of view, the pattern of light generated as a result of people using these items is random with no control.
Imagine if people wore an electronic glowstick on a lanyard which was wirelessly controlled from the stage. It would have the following effect:-
Create an asthetically pleasing light show
Lights change to music or triggered manually
Sticks can change colour, flash, fade etc
Each stick has a unique serial number
Stick contains receiver AND tranmitter
Sticks can be controlled together, or targetted individually. By accessing indivually it is possible to creat waves / ripples.
Possible to integrate the electronics into mechandise, such as hats, badges
The audience become part of the light show
Target Markets - Concerts, Nighclubs, Rave Events, Dating Venues, Pantomimes, TV shows such as Dancing on Ice ? - how about the 2010 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony?
I have invented a slogan...."Our recipe for light entertainment...just add people"
The product will be called the 'Zigstick'
The Network controlling the system is called 'VIDEN' - Visual Interactive Dance & Entertainment System. MY objective is to get all venues VIDEN Enabled.
I see 2 products, a low cost (no packaging) version for concerts - i see them being sold in baskets for example, and one which is more for the club go'er, and will work at any VIDEN Enabled venue.
The route to market will be B2B (ie concert organisers), although they will want to make 30%, and direct to the public.
I'm in the process of finding contacts in this industry, but finding ones that will talk to a small development company may not be easy.
Where am i now ?
I have a working concept with PC software running 13 Sticks to show what effects can be done. Working on different radio frequencies currently to get optimum performance /range.
Selling costs ? - Of course, i dont know what the customer is going to want to pay, but i beleive this product would need to sell between £10-£15 (concerts) and £15-£20 for nightclub use. Does anyone have any input ?
My issue at the moment is funding to develop the next phase which is to miniaturise the product for futher testing. The objective is to make the product not much larger than a regular 6" glowstick.
The issue is funds... there is more development needed, in particular the plastics. Im using my own money at present, with 2 other colleagues helping me on the PC front-end software. We work full time currently for an employee, and with mortgages / bills to pay, we cant simply give up this financial security (yet !). I work for sereral hours during the evening and fortunate enough to have a supportive wife to help me fulfil my dream of creating what i see to be a very successful busines.. :)

love the idea
great idea...
a couple of comments.
The items will need to have a fall back mode so when a customer takes them home they work even if they just flash or do what current concert led light sticks do.
Is viden DMX compatible - it will need to so it can take feeds from current lighting desks etc. Would the lights not be better DMX addressable - i.e. each stick or item is either a dmx channel 1 to say 16 or you can programme the item so they have multi colour led's that are dmx addressed. Viden then just becomes a DMX to wireless trigger which any club or venue can plug in - even mobile dj's.
You could then look at things like dmx battery candles so tables in restaurands can be addressed.
How in a concert venue can you create a waveif each light is individuall addressed. It won't know if id 100 is next to id 101. you would end up with the wave travelling at different directions and not being consistent.
Hope this makes sense.
