Remember Me...Now done my first years trading

Hiya all, I know that I haven't posted for a long time. I just went back and read through my previous logs so glad I did them I can see the huge progress I made from the start of the project to the present day and also the stresses I was under. Well, I have done a years trading and celebrated with a huge open day at the shop with money off, raffles etc and took more on that day than ever before. I find running the business hard at times only because of the financial strain it puts you under and because my hubby is self employed too if we both have a bad month it's very hard and tensions run high. However, I do love being my own boss and feeling a huge sense of achievement when I walk into the shop everyday. The local Echo did a huge full page spread on me last me which was great and having loads of interest from that. So finally just to say to all of you that are still ploughing away to try and achieve your dream don't ever give up cause the rewards when you get there are huge.

Have read your blogs with great interest. Im at a very early stage of setting up my own toy store and theres loads of stuff in your blogs that i can associate with.

Reading about your experiences with trade fairs, grants and shop premises has been really helpful for me, so thanks, and the short amount of time it took you to set up the business is really inspirational.

I wish you continued success and look forward to the website (assuming its not set up yet, when I Google daffodils and south Wales I seem to get about 1 million websites)

Thanks very much for the update! Really nice to hear from one of the veterans ;)
I wish you a really, really good run up to Christmas. Exciting times ahead for all retail businesses!!!

If you have a moment at some point there are a few people on here now that are thinking of setting up shops so any advice you have for them on anything really would be fab.

Have you got a website as well? Would be fun to see it if you do - your shops is just a tad too far away for me to just nip in! :(

It's nice to be back. fantasticals I have a contact for you one of my suppliers does toys too a;; the named stuff, Bratz, Barbie, Action Man, Disney etc the contact is www.magson.co.uk. Hope this is of some help I know how hard it was to get in with suppliers. If you really want it you'll do it and you've got the best start with the book and the site. Anna, lovely to hear from you too, seems like you're doing well I knew you would. If I can help anyone then just ask! :)
