Meeting with Bank Manager

I had a meeting with a Barclays local business bank manager yesterday. I was a bit nervous to be honest.Well it was Barclays and apparently they are little devils when it comes to business customers.
But to my surprise it went really well, he was really helpful and informative.
Explained all the diffrent account options without confusing me,and above all he was really impressed (I know can you believe it)with my idea and what I had achieved so far. He said he liked the fact that I was going for it and had no doubts that I would succeed.
So I'm really quite pleased with myself,he said that the barclays business essentials account was the most popular as you get 18months free banking and you get about 700pounds worth of software, bookeeping and so on, but for this account you have to pay about 18pounds a month including VAT. plus all the support of your manager and online services, sounds ok to me but let me know what you all think. I have yet to make appointments with other banks in order to compare but I'm finding it hard to choose which ones.
still working with suppliers but getting there slowly. I now have two based in china one making one part of my product and having to send it on to the other so they may finish it. Pretty lengthy process but have to say the chinese are very accomodating and helpful.
May have even found a name (but still not decided)
Hopefully samples should be here within a month and can actually start the ball rolling.
so until next time,

Vanessa (somedaysoon)

Winter always turns to spring

Well done!

The Bank - Wooah! This is a stage I'm not looking forward to one bit. It's still early days for me and I'm not there yet but one day soon I may get the Bank's business advisor laughing in my face.

I have written a sitcom that doesn't appear to make anyone laugh while my bank statement has them in stitches!

Well done anyway - you must be very pleased.

Banks Managers + Options

I'm really pleased to hear you got a good Bank Manager, however do be a bit sceptical on the "free" offers that all the banks offer, I know it is a big generalisation, but anything that costs nothing is often worth ... ??

Make sure that you are getting exactly what YOU want, and they are also often willing to barter on price and benefits, I always think it is good to remember that they want YOUR business, make them fight for it a bit :)

We looked at many Banking Institutions to see what fitted our needs and the costs that were incurred and currently are still with the Bank of Scotland who we used when we initially setup the Company using their Online banking / postal Banking services, the only gripe we have is that it can sometimes take 6 - 10 days for money to get into our account by cheque due to them being sent by post to the "branch". It was a very inexpensive option and suited us.
