Could you feedback on my business idea?

Derbyshire has a wealth of tourist-based towns, with quality restaurants, specialist food stores, hotels and tourist centres. These attract a seaonal influx of British and foreign tourists, and a year-round clientele of local business people with a greater amount of disposable income. The current trend towards fine foods and away from adulterated products is amplified in these areas, as is shown by the increase in vegetarian cafes and organic food shops. My business will provide them with the finest drinking chocolates in unique, single-serving blocks, elegantly packaged, and hand crafted from the highest quality organic and fairtrade ingredients. Our quality, style and superior service will allow us to command a premium price.

Hot choc?
Hi Lee
Sounds like a good idea in principle, but I'm not sure I understand exactly how you will be selling your drinking chocolate. Will it be sold through your own cafe, or through existing ones? Is it ready to drink or does it have to be heated up? And if you will be promoting its organic qualities, will you also be taking account of the organic principle of minimising impact on the environment, and not creating too much wasteful packaging?

Hello,
I only have to read the word chocolate and I am instantly interested!
However, I wasn't sure from your comments whether the 'individual' packaging was in order for businesses to sell the items to their customers,as something that they buy to take home and use or if the individual packaging was something that was designed for ease of use within the catering business, for customers to drink there and then? or possibly both?

Hot Choc
Hi Steve,
You say there is a 'seasonal' influx of visitors. Presumably this means summertime? I'm just wondering about summertime and hot chocolate?? With temperatures in the 30's, will people really want to buy hot chocolate?
What about something like cool and refreshing drinks - elderflower, real lemonade... that sort of thing?

Blocks of drinking chocolate
Hi Lee,
One of my local deli/coffee shops sell drinking chocolate on sticks. The idea being that you pour the hot milk, and then stick the chocolate in it and stir as you would with a spoon as it melts. Can't remember what the name is, but it looks great and is very nicely shaped (more of a pyramid shape on a wooden stick) and covered in loose fitting posh see through cellophane plastic. Next time I go I shall ask how they are selling.
