Leaving your job

Hi,

I know how you feel, I was in a similar position to you a few months back, so what I decided to do is concentrate on finding a job which was part time, and closer to home, this gave me a chance to recharge my batteries a little, and more time, because even the travel was cut down to focus on the business.

I know it sounds obvious, and I was Lucky to get a part time job which was totally new, and not with the company where I worked full time, but it may be the best option, because some things can take longer than you think they are going to, so it is nice to have the safety net, just two words of caution from my own experience:
1) you need to be quite focused in separating the two jobs, sometimes I would be excited about the business and my mind would wonder a bit, when at work, got over this, by allowing this to happen for a certain time at lunch.
2) I became complacent and sometimes would not drive the business as hard as I could because I have the safety net of the other job.

However, if you have considered all this, and really feel in your heart of hearts, now is the time to take the leap, then go for it, but try and build up an emergency fund.
