Hi,
I am about to try and find my customers! I have an idea on who i would like to attract and who i will attract but need to do my research! I am opening up an internet cafe. Research has never been my strong point. Also on a very tight budget so free is better!
Where do I start?
Have a rough idea of questions I need to ask.....
Any books you could recommend or websites that could help me form an MR plan?
Oh help!

Hi Febes,
Have you thought about going to an internet cafe and asking the people that come out of them a couple of questions , that way you'll get directly to your target market and it'll be free!
You'll need to think carefully about the questions and also how you approach people to get them to talk to you, i would probably start with something like
'Hi I'm opening up an internet cafe and need to do some research for it, what made you come to this particular cafe today?' Then carry on with your other questions.
What you wouldn't want to say is something such as 'can i ask you a couple of questions' because then you are giving them the option to say no and then walk away, the first question engages them straight away.
Also how about going to cafes in other areas and speaking to the owners? I'm sure they'd be happy to help you.
Hope this helps
Paul

Hi
have you tried business link they do a guide called "market research for the first time" which will help you out with the various options,
i would think there is a lot of research you can do locally yourself and save lots.
