Hello
Just out of curiosity, is it ok to put TM in superscript next to your name/logo without registering it at the Patent Office?

Thanks
Matt

Trade Marks

As far as i understand it you can,
The 'TM' logo means you're using it as a trademark, the (R) logo means its a *registered trademark*, i admit i'm not 100% on this, i caught the end of a presentation on this subject at the NEC earlier this year, and he was trying to make it very clear that 'TM' meant nothing in terms of whether the trademark is registered or not.

This link says that if you arent registered:
• Do not use ® or Registered Trade Mark
• You can use TM, as this is not considered to indicate that the mark is
registered
• After registration, you can then switch to ®, or continue using TM, as
this does not lose you any rights. . There are some countries – the US
is one of them – where failure to use R once a mark is registered will
lose the trademark owner some of his rights, but this does not apply to
the UK

Hope that helps.
