Support for your business

If you've been a poster on this blog for a while you may have come across me before. I have however launched a new venture and wanted to give it a little bit of a profile here and hopefully also help my fellow entrepreneurs.

The business is called Localventure and the aim is to support small businesses and entrepreneurs within the UK. You'll find us at www.localventure.blogspot.com and on Twitter as localventure1.

Fundementally the website is designed as a free resource to SME's so any business employing less than 500 people can join the site for free and advertise their business with us. In addition you can give us updates/guest blogs to publish whenever you want.

I'm trying to create a kind of informal business community, so in addition to the blog posts featuring members we also have articles on business, book reviews, relevant guest blogs - basically anything that appeals to our members.

We have also begun featuring a range of business services that members can access for free or at lower cost - these include :

An EAP (Employee Assistance Program) not normally available at all to small companies
A Free Business Utility Review - free consultation with a specialist who only takes a fee once he's demonstrated a saving on your utilities and or telecoms package
Executive Coaching at discounted rates
E-mail marketing to our massive SME e-mail database

We put up around 50 to 100 blog postings a month plus a regular newsletter (going to over 3,000 businesses which we can also use for advertising as well).

The site was launched on the 19th of January and we began adding members in late February - at the moment we get over 1,000 hits to the site per month and have around 410 follower on Twitter - we're in discussions with a web designer to migrate the site away from the free blogger host to a better web interface. Lots going on and generally very exciting.

To join all I need is a couple of paragraphs of copy about your business, contact info and a logo or image if you'd like to feature one in your post.
