Starting up a Plumbing Business
Mon, 25/01/2010 - 14:12
Hi there,
I am new to this site and new to the idea of becoming my own boss.
I have been a Plumbing and Heating Engineer for 17 years but only recently decided to start my own business. I am really hoping there will be other people on this site who have either done it, or like me - thinking of doing so.
I am interested to know how other people have gone about it and what the next step for me is.
Thank you,
Steve.

Hi Steve,
I have been a plumbing and heating engineer for 12 years now. I have just started up on my own at the turn of the year. I have been trying to advertise on-line, im listed on yell.com and I am currently listed 4th on there site for "plumbers Inverness". I also currently rank 1st place on google for "plumbers Inverness". I have tried advertising in my local paper. It is very early days and I also am looking for more ways to bring in work. Here is a list of things I have tried to bring in work.
1. yell.com.
2. free listings on-line
3. flyers.
4. Introductory letters to other businesses.
5. van sign written.
6. business cards.
7. website. http://www.plumbersinverness.co.uk
Anymore suggestions would be very much appreciated.
