Hi bugsbuggy
I can't really give you any advice about buying one - but I have been working at a franchise package that is now for sale from buy-LOCAL.net. We are offering an Online Farmers Market which is a complete local food e-commerce and delivery package. Check it out at www.buy-local.net
We had a great deal of help from the British Franchise Association, and eventually met with a great guy in Paul Tough of 'Franchise Options' who has helped us move on our business to the next level.
Happy to have a chat if you are interested and can certainly share any learnings we have had in setting up and selling franchises with you.
Good to talk.

Hi there,
I remember looking into franchises a while back and there is really one onle places to go.. the BFA (http://www.thebfa.org). From memory there were a few people listed here who did grafiti removal. Trawl through the lists of members. If work ever dries up just have some kids and send em out on the streets!

Hi bugsbuggy,
I would thoroughly research the Franchise you want to go into!!! I was about to purchase a well known vending franchise....however after a lot of research the numbers just did not add up for me personally!!! also you will need to get a Franchise Lawyer to have a look at the agreement!!!
and find out how much royalty you need to give to the Franchisor? can become substantial if you have had a bad month!!! on the upside 95% of Franchisees are still profitable after 5 years and it may be easier to expand as the banks are more willing to lend (ie even during the rumoured tough current economic environment)
