Consulting Engineers Practice

Has anyone got experience of starting an Engineering Consultancy practice?
I'm an experienced and chartered engineer, but thinking about branching off from the company and setting up a practice of my own with a collegue.
Is there anything in particular I need to watch out for, any golden rules etc?
