Website feedback

Hi Paul!
I like that you have added in much more content, but it is really difficult to get to. I am viewing the site in Mozilla Firefox, and the menu at the top is not working very well. I try to hover over where the text is, but it doesn't show me the drop down menu until I move the mouse away. I also think it is a little bit dark in the bulk of the text (however the darkness makes me think I do need an electrician ;) ) And the dropdown menu tabs are just a bit too dark too, unless you can make them light up more often. I didn't even notice that they were there at first.
Any other comments from anyone?

Website feedback

Thanks Anna,
I use Firefox too, but haven't seen those problems with the menu showing, I'll let the designer know and see what we can do.

Cheers for your input

HI Paul

I tell you what it is, and that is that I am just not calm and patient enough.....! I have had another look now, and the problem is that the drop-down menus don't actually work until the site has finished loading. Once one of the fields have lit up they all work ok. It would be better if they were working immediately though to save frustration (I didn't go back to check once they didn't work first time - which is a shame with all your new content).

Some feedback

My comments

The website needs to be alot lighter than it is. Your sentences have been broken up as well. Very informative but you need capitals on words like the British Standards and the Building Regulations, this is only from a professional point of view. Maybe consider putting Approved Document P of the Building Regulations rather then Part P, in order for the general public, builders etc to have a better understanding on what you are trying to say.

Furthermore you might want to say that the regulation came into force 1st Jan 2005 and is now a requirement of the Building Regulations and that you will issue your client with a certificate of compliance.

Great company name and I hope this helps.

Some feedback

Hi

As I work in the website review business, I thought I'd give you some feedback.

I like the presentation of the site, the navigation layout is good and the animation upon entering the site is actually relevant. I did think this may lead to a large Homepage size, but it has been implemented well, as the total size is 74 KB.

The main area to look at is the text being used, firstly some proof-reading is needed to find any glaring errors and then some steps need to be taken to break the text up, to make it more readable.

For example, on the Homepage, you could use some headings to break the text up into logical paragraphs - maybe Services, Standards, Qualified Electricians.

Additionally, using a good tag line would really help a user visiting the site to know what your site is for and what your company provides. This could replace the rather dry text "Domestic and Commercial Electricians" at the top of the Homepage. Off the top of my head, something like "Need an electrician? Call us free." This tells the user what you're about straight away and is also written from the user's viewpoint, which is often forgotten on websites.

Hope this helps a little and good luck,
