New Business Feedback Appreciated
Good Day all,
I'm starting up a plumbing company called Dripbusters Ltd and have registered both the company name and the domain name www.dripbusters.co.uk. My logo is below and I would like any feedback (positive/negative) on people's perceptions of the brand.
The tag line is going to be 'Qualified Prumbers, Realistic Prices'.
Thanks in advance for all feedback!
Keiran.

Hi Keiran,
It's good that you are taking a very professional approach to your business. But I think the logo is confusing. The drip is crossed out, which is fine, but it's holding a spanner. The spanner should be a positive image, because it's going to fix your leak. But it's being held by the drip (a negative image) and is being crossed out with it; and it looks like the drip is going to do the work.
The name sounds good, but are you doing installation as well? If so, you need to make it clear that you don't only fix drips.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
I like it, very eye catching. I agree with the post above that what you do could somehow be made clearer as you need your customers to know what you are offering, perhaps if you had a slogan under it?
Did you design the logo yourself or pay a company to do it? Hope it wont cost you too much to make changes.
Kirsten
Hi Kieran,
I think the name and the logo are really wicked. However, I have a question around the need for your website. I spend my life online... I'm currently building a software business... etc, but sometimes reality strikes and I need a plumber.
My first and probably only port of call is yell.com (online yellow pages). Sometimes listed plumbers have websites and I'll check them out... to give me some sense of the professionalism I might receive...
Now anyone can knock up a great looking website... I think were your plumbers' website can make a difference is giving people advice on small common ailments that they can fix themselves. It creates trust which from my point of view (i.e. a customer) is the most important asset of a plumber and will bring you repeat business. For example: have a some pages on common things you encounter such as a DIYer drilling through a mains pipe... provide some quick advice what they can do in the meantime until you show up (include digital photographs).
Take pictures of before/after you start/finish a job and post them to your site. Let the customer know what you're upto.
Good luck,
Ijonas.
Thanks to all for the valuable feedback. I hadn't looked at the spanner in the logo that way. I'm also going to take on board the points about my website. I will be making a more interesting website closer to our go live date in January 2009.
Many thanks,
Keiran.
